Beauty for Ashes

Beauty for Ashes
Jewels for the Journey

Isaiah 61:1-3 (KJV)
  1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Dear Woman of God,
We, as women, often carry much more on the inside than we reveal to those on the outside. We tend to hurt in silence because it is difficult to share our most painful experiences with others. We carry around hurts from our past, hurts from our relationships with others (including our children) and life’s disappointments. We smile on the outside but are miserable on the inside. We are so weighted down that it begins to show up in the way we respond to the enemy’s attacks. The fight just seems to leave us, depression seeps in and we wonder how much more we can take. The Lord wants us to recognize that Satan uses this to cause us to live in bondage and to live beneath our blessing. Christ bore our griefs and carried our sorrows to the cross! God wants us to lay aside the weight we are carrying by giving Him the ashes and the sackcloth that we are wearing. He wants to exchange a crown of beauty for our ashes so that we may experience true peace and have the ability to love without fear of hurt. God wants us to experience wholeness, soundness, harmony, security, prosperity and well-being. This is what His peace is all about. The Lord wants us to allow Him to heal our broken hearts and bind up our wounds. However, He can only take what we are willing to give Him. We encourage you to allow the Lord to take ALL that weighs you down and exchange a crown of beauty for your ashes of mourning. As spiritual women, we stand in agreement with you as you pray this prayer and claim your deliverance:
Heavenly Father,
I cast ALL of my cares upon you. I give you ALL that I am holding in my mind, in my heart and in my spirit. Lord, I give you permission to take ALL that I have allowed to weigh me down. Father, I give you the ashes of ALL that has caused me to mourn and I accept the oil of joy in exchange. Father, I put on the garment of praise and I CAST away the spirit of heaviness and from this day forward peace abides in me and I am made whole! I ask this in Jesus’ name!
