Peace is the Answer
"I will lie down in peace and sleep, for you alone, O LORD, will keep me safe."
Psalm 4:8 (NLT)
"I am leaving you with a gift--peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So don't be troubled or afraid." (NLT)
Dear Woman of God,
Stress is something that women are well acquainted with as part of a hectic daily schedule. Healthy stress is a natural part of life but unhealthy stress can be detrimental. We must learn to focus our minds on Christ in the midst of times of unhealthy stress. The enemy uses negative stress as a weapon and we often do not realize this. Negative stress can overwhelm us and cause us to fear or to doubt God. Peace is the answer to negative stress and true peace only comes from one source—Our Father! We must learn to meditate on God’s word during times of stress and only then will we find comfort. Woman of God set prayer as your response to stress. Develop a daily prayer that you can meditate on during times of stress. Here is an example of a prayer for stress relief:
I am feeling stressed and not at peace. I cast my care and anxiety upon you and I cast away any fear or doubt that I might have. I know that you are yet in control and I trust you to take my burdens and fill me with your peace. I take off the garment of heaviness and put on the garment of praise. I focus my mind on you because you promised to keep me in perfect peace if my mind is stayed on you. I accept your peace in Jesus’ Name!
